Monica originally hails from Chester, VA but now considers herself a true NC transplant. She graduated from Meredith College magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Political Science. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in International Communications from American University – The School of International Service.
Prior to settling down in this area, Monica lived in Florence, Italy and thereafter in Washington, D.C. where she worked for the US State Department – Foreign Service Institute and in the Communications Office of the Embassy of Italy. In those roles she was able to create training modules for The Overseas Briefing Center and also produced a training video entitled, Promoting American Wines Overseas.
After her transition to the Triangle from Washington, D.C., Monica was the Wake County Arbitration Coordinator and the Domestic Violence Coordinator. Monica is passionate about the serious issue of domestic violence and is dedicated to assisting clients who may have experienced the same. Those professional experiences paved the way for her to then become a family law paralegal. In 2017 she co-authored Practical Skills for North Carolina Family Law Paralegals published by the NC Bar Association.
Monica lives in Fuquay Varina with her partner, Chris, and their five children! She looks forward to combining her professional skills with her personal experiences with divorce and blending families in her current position as Senior Paralegal at Triangle Divorce Lawyers.
