Sean is a mediator and collaborative attorney who helps individuals resolve family law disputes out of court. When private resolution of such matters is not possible, however, Sean is a committed and tireless advocate in the courtroom.
He is certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission as a family financial mediator. He maintains an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.
He is a past president of the North Carolina Association of Professional Family Mediators, an organization that provides quarterly advanced-practitioner training to family mediators. He is a founding member of Triangle Collaborative Divorce Professionals, an open, multidisciplinary collaborative practice group. He serves on the Dispute Resolution Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association. He also mediates as a volunteer in the Wake County Family Court.
Sean is also an experienced appellate attorney, having litigated more than 100 appeals in North Carolina and federal appellate courts. He is a member of the Office of the Parent Defender’s roster for appeals involving termination of parental rights and abuse, neglect, and dependency.
When he is not working, Sean enjoys reading, cycling, and riding his motorcycle (a Triumph Tiger).
