Dana M. Bellingrath

With 17 years of experience practicing North Carolina family law, Dana M. Bellingrath brings a practical, child-focused approach to divorce, custody disputes, and complex family law matters. As an Associate Attorney at Triangle Divorce Lawyers in Clayton, she represents clients throughout Wake, Johnston, Wilson, and Nash counties.

Dana handles divorce, separation, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, domestic violence protective orders, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. She has particular experience with high-conflict custody cases involving domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health concerns, and challenging co-parenting relationships.

Understanding the emotional and financial challenges families face, Dana prioritizes clear communication, realistic expectations, and solutions tailored to each client's circumstances. She encourages negotiation and settlement when appropriate while remaining prepared to advocate for clients in court when necessary.

Licensed in North Carolina since 2009, Dana previously owned and operated Bellingrath Family Law, where she independently managed family law cases. Her professional background also includes mediation and parenting coordination, and she became certified as a Parenting Coordinator in March 2025.

Dana earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law. Having experienced a high-conflict divorce as a child, she understands how parental disputes can affect children. This personal experience inspired her to pursue family law and continues to shape her approach to custody matters.

Dana's community involvement includes volunteering with Legal Aid and InterAct to assist domestic violence survivors, participating in domestic violence custody court initiatives, and providing free family law consultations. She has also held leadership roles with Wake Women Attorneys and presented at continuing legal education seminars.

Outside the office, Dana enjoys collecting houseplants, raising and releasing butterflies, cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes, and spending time with her two cats and two dogs.
