During law school, Daniel competed on the Moot Court Team, served as Secretary of the Student Bar Association, and received the Best Oralist Award in the Clifton E. Johnson Moot Court Competition. He also participated in the Civil Litigation Clinic and served as a judicial intern in the chambers of Justice Samuel Ervin IV of the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Daniel initially knew that he wanted to build a career in civil litigation but did not expect to practice family law. After entering the field, he discovered that family law was a natural fit for his strengths in advocacy, problem-solving, and working directly with individuals. He has remained committed to helping clients address difficult family law problems and determine a path forward.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and their young daughter. Both Daniel and his wife are North Carolina State University alumni and enjoy cheering on the Wolfpack.
